Community Guidelines

Last updated: February 2026

Bookisty is a platform for people who love books. These guidelines exist to keep it that way — a calm, honest, intellectually curious space. They are not exhaustive; use good judgment.

Posts must be book-related

All quotes and reflections must be tied to a specific book. Off-topic posts, unattributed content, or fabricated quotes are not allowed. If you're posting a reflection, it should be meaningfully connected to the book it is attached to.

No spam or self-promotion

Do not post content for the purpose of advertising, promoting products or services, or driving traffic to external sites. Unsolicited promotional links in bios, captions, or posts will be removed.

No harassment

Treat other users with respect. Personal attacks, threats, doxxing, or targeted harassment of any kind are strictly prohibited. Disagreement is fine; hostility is not.

No hate speech

Content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin is not permitted. This includes quotes or excerpts used to promote hateful ideologies.

Respect intellectual discussion

Bookisty exists for genuine literary engagement. Post quotes you find meaningful, write reflections that add real perspective, and engage with books honestly. Accuracy matters — do not misattribute quotes or fabricate content.

Respect copyright

Share short, attributed excerpts only. Do not post lengthy passages, full chapters, or content that could constitute copyright infringement. See our Copyright Policy for guidance.

Bookisty reserves the right to remove any content and suspend any account that violates these guidelines, at our discretion and without prior notice. Repeat or severe violations may result in permanent account termination.

To report a violation or ask a question, contact us at support@bookisty.com. For copyright concerns, see our Copyright Policy.
